Mercer Island Park & Ride Expansion: Preliminary Design

Client: Sound Transit


This project is a two-floor parking garage with 447 parking space and bicycling storage. The garage is situated to minimize the visual impact on the surrounding community by depressing the first floor below grade. Improvements were made to the rider loading area on North Mercer Way including an additional bus bay in each direction, new passenger shelters, wider platforms, bicycle storage and other passenger amenities. Rob Fazio designed the landscape and pedestrian circulation for the park and ride, featuring art pieces, landscaped terraces, integrated lighting and seating.
