This affordable housing project in the Uptown neighborhood of Seattle creates studio apartments for single adults who have stabilized after experiencing homelessness. A ground floor community arts space will be operated by Path With Art. The site features several old, large London Plane street trees dating back to the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair development. New planting strips with new shrubs and groundcover help provide room for these trees and enhance the pedestrian environment. Special pavers at the residential entrance adds a special touch to mark the entry. Raised planters wrap around to the east and north, working in with the adjacent development design. A patio space on the second level provides an outdoor amenity space for the residents, with string lighting, integrated seating, gardening planters, and large planters and bioplanter with several trees to provide privacy from the adjacent tall buildings.
